Before the lockdown, a client left me his dented front motorcycle fender to fix after he saw some examples of motorcycle paintless dent removal jobs I've posted on my website.

He told me that he just wanted me to make it a lot better and was ready to accept a “Good but not perfect” repair.

I assured him  that the repair was going to be better than what he expected.

The smile on his face at the moment of delivering his fender after I repaired it is still vivid in my mind and gives me great satisfaction in being  PDR Tech.

  I’m posting this video so that you all can see the details and procedures necessary to perform paintless dent removal on a motorcycle fender.

Here is our new work procedures policy for the protection from Coronavirus - COVID-19.

We disinfect our hands properly before presenting ourselves to your door.

All tools are sterilized before coming  into contact with your vehicle. 

We use disinfectant to wipe keys, door-handles, or any other surface of your vehicle when the job
is completed.

All invoices are sent by email to avoid hand contact.

We encourage online money transfers to avoid contamination by dollar bills, credit cards and
payment terminals.

We discourage handshakes during this precautionary period.

We are taking these precautions to ensure that our professional services will not leave any
negative impacts to your health. 

The health and well being of everyone is our utmost priority.

Most people think that we only have to wax our cars in the spring to protect the paint from harmful UV rays and keep it nice and shiny for the summer.

But did you know that it’s also very important to apply a wax or sealant to your car to protect the paint from our harsh winters?

Once winter kicks in, we start spreading salt and sand on the roads to keep us safe from slippery ice. 

These abrasive products are then sprayed all over our vehicules by the tires of the cars and trucks rolling in front of us. 

Here is an example:

This car is full of salt and sand.

And it often snows on top of it faster than we can have it washed.

Although the snow on the car looks white and clean, underneath is a different story, all the dirt, salt and sand that was there before the snowfall is still there, it’s just hidden beneath a blanket of white snow.

Now we have to get all that snow off the car with a snowbrush.

As we brush the snow off the car, all the dirt, salt, & sand underneath creates micro-scratches in the paints clear-coat if there is no wax or sealant protecting it.

Even the brush itself can cause micro scratches.

It’s important to choose a snow-brush that has soft bristles and not bristles that are made of stiff plastic.

Here are some examples of micro scratches created by a snowbrush and handwashing with a dirty mit on a black car that was not protected by a wax or sealant.

A multiple step polishing job is required to correct these micro scratches and recondition the paint, along with applying a good coat of wax or sealant regularly to keep it looking like new.

 

There are plenty of car detailing shops and mobile polishing professionals that offer paint correction services.

After that, all that is needed is to re-apply a paint protection wax or sealant in the spring, during the summer and just before the winter to protect the paint and avoid having to do an expensive polishing job all over again.

You can always call the company again to maintain the wax jobs if you don’t want to do it yourself.
